Diarist A15 Day 20

Diary Day

September 16, 2020

My husband left for a week’s vacation visiting friends and some family members in Wisconsin this morning. He left about 8:30 so we spent a little time before that getting him set with snacks, packing, and so on. I didn’t eat anything as I had a blood draw at 10:00. I got to the hospital on time, didn’t have to wait long, and all went smoothly with the procedure. As soon as that was over, I drove to EB Ball Center at Minnetrista for a class on needlepoint. It is one of my hobbies. I enjoy learning new stitches. Utilizing different stitches also makes the projects go more quickly as breaking the whole into small parts that I can accomplish keeps me motivated. When the workshop ended, I met a friend at Panera for lunch. We tend to get each other little presents when we travel. Last week I visited my middle daughter and her family who live in Detroit, so I brought my friend a pair of earrings made of Petosky stone, a stone found only in Michigan. We visited for about 3 hours. At that point, I was tired and came home.

I am having book club with 8 other friends on Sunday night. Before then, I am going to a reunion tomorrow night in Indianapolis, so I needed to get the house cleaned. I didn’t really feel like washing the floors and vacuuming but I did. Honestly, I took a bunch of breaks, but I did get the work done. I had the TV on, so I was able to watch some of the news coverage of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. It was a lovely night outside and my cat decided to make a night of it. I watched an episode of Midsomer Murders and waited for the cat to come inside which was shortly after ten o’clock. At that point, I headed for bed.
