Diarist A15 Day08

April 27, 2018
7:30 Woke up with the alarm on my phone. Got ready for the day. Ate a mix of yogurt, muesli, nuts and blueberries.
8:30 Drove to the medical doctor’s office and checked it. I have been having abdominal pain.
9:00 Saw the doctor and he ordered an ultrasound for next week.
10:00 Returned home and visited with a friend who is staying with us for 4 ½ days. He is a high school friend of my husband who lives in Madison, WI. It was a busy time thinking and planning for him and staying engaged with my schedule. Not to mention, being worried about my health.
12:30 Drove to Maring Hunt Library for a Pies for Peace event.
1:00 Set up for the event.
2:00-5:00 Pies for Peace partnered with the library and an Immersive Learning program from Ball State for an outdoor picnic. The architecture students built picnic pavilions on the library’s grounds and set up a community garden. There were group games, art tables for children’s activities, and student artwork from Southview Elementary School. Pies for Peace is a group that tries to bring people together based on our commonality rather than our differences. We also serve free pie to the attendees. At this event, we served over 250 pieces of pie. The weather was windy but one of the first nice spring days we have had with temperatures in the upper 60s. At this event, we attracted community members from the southside area, school children, older people, BSU students and people who support Pies for Peace. We had a wide demographic following. We considered the event very successful.
5:00-5:30 Helped clean up
5:30 Drove home
5:45-6:30 Visited with husband and house guest
6:30-7:30 Ate at home
After dinner we talked and watched some TV. Went to bed about 9:30.
