Diary Day
October 4, 2023
This was a busy day. I woke up about 7:30 and got out of bed about 8:00. My husband was up and sitting outside reading and enjoying a beautiful morning with the cat. After visiting for a bit, I got cleaned up and dressed for yoga. Prior to yoga, I had an appointment at the Cancer Center for a blood test. Fortunately, my health is good, but I get blood tests every six months to follow a condition that could become serious. The center was busy, which was depressing. I didn’t have to wait long for the blood draw, so I was pleased about it. I felt I was on a roll, so I drove to Walgreens and got the most recent Covid vaccine. Close by was my yoga class. The pharmacist said to move my arm which was easy advice to follow in yoga! The class was good and restorative. Following yoga, I went to Cornerstone Center for the Arts to look at two of my acrylic paintings that are hanging for the month of October. I hung them yesterday and, in the process, dropped both which damaged the frames. I did the best I could to repair them, but I wanted to double check to make sure they were still hanging on the wall. They were so I left well enough alone.
At this point, I was hungry, so I drove to Taco Bell’s drive through. I ordered a soft taco supreme and diet Pepsi. Since I was by Staples, I ran in and bought printer ink. This was more expensive than I expected. At this point, it was about 1:00. I put gas in the car and mailed a letter at the post office on Wheeling. Continuing on Wheeling, I drove to a needlepoint class in a woman’s house. She has a small business in a pole barn in her backyard. People can go there on Wednesday afternoons, and she helps them with projects. She has an amazing amount of inventory in her studio. Yarn, canvases, thread, and small projects that involve needlework are available for purchase. Many of my friends go every week but I go occasionally. I have more projects than I will ever finish so I hate to think what I’d gather if I went every week. I visited and sewed until about 3:30. At that time, I went home and visited with my husband. We had a light dinner of corn, tomatoes, sandwiches, bean salad and fruit. We like to eat on our patio when the weather is nice. I cleaned up the kitchen, changed clothes and got picked up for a Muncie Artists Guild meeting which started at 6:00. A friend drove me to the meeting. I’m officer for the organization, so I set up my computer and took notes. The president does a good job of sending out notes for her agenda so prior to the meeting, I fill in information in my minutes so when the meeting occurs, I fill in information and edit the material. It helps to have some work done ahead of the meeting. When I got home, I was a little hungry, so I had a snack. It was a little after 8. My husband was watching a baseball game, so I watched that a little. Then I went back to my office and cleaned up my meeting notes. It is best for me to do this while things are fresh. Also, I prefer to wrap it up and get it off my mind. I sent the president the minutes. She will send out a follow up note to the members. At some point before next month’s meeting, so will email the minutes to the organization. Finally, I wrote this diary which I wanted to do before I forgot anything. It was a busy day, but they all seem to be busy.
