Muncie Journal

February 22, 2020

This record may or may not be appropriate for a journal entry because it didn’t exemplify life in Muncie as I was visiting in Detroit. I was at a visit to my middle daughter’s house and spent time with her, her husband and my granddaughter.

My daughter had the day off work so she took my granddaughter to school and then went to Planet Fitness to work out. I stayed home and had a phone conference with a graduate student at Texas State University. A former colleague of mine works there and he wanted his students to interview people who had careers in student support services. That interview was about an hour long.

T came home and got ready for our time together. We left and went to Royal Oak for lunch. We did some window shopping and my favorite stop was a used bookstore. I bought a Robert B. Parker book to read while traveling home. Given the time of year, I flew to Detroit rather than drove. It was a nice, easy, relaxing day. The weather was very sunny but it was cold and windy.

We got my granddaughter and then took her home. She played with dolls and then her ipad until dinner. When my son-in-law got home, we drove to another nearby suburb, Berkley, and ate at a restaurant. When we got home, it was time for bed for my granddaughter and I followed soon after. We watched Rachel Maddow on TV for a little bit but I try to give them some space when I visit so I went off and read.
