Diarist G58 Day 16

   Diary Day    January 3, 2021

AM

6:45  I awaken with a prayer and while in bed I plan my day.

7:10  In my mind, I recite from memory the 66 books of the Bible forwards and backwards.

7:12  I get up quietly (my wife is still asleep).  In bathroom I brush my teeth and take my morning pills.

7:17  Go in home office to verify and create new Christmas card and address file.

8:20  Fix my wife, and myself breakfast, and take them upstairs to eat.   Mine is a smoothie.

8:40  Read Daily Devotional and write in my Daily Journal, then look briefly at newspaper.

9:10  Discuss plans for today and tomorrow, and the future, with my wife.  (We attend church on    Sabbath (Saturday)). which is why we aren’t in church on Sunday at this time. We discuss future plans, both short and long term. We are considering moving this spring, so to list our house for sale, we have a good bit of clutter that needs to go. We are both in our mid 70’s, so deciding where we will move is a big deal, but it will be in the Muncie area, where our family is located.

9:30  Balance check book online.

9:45  Take down outdoor holiday decorations. Set TV to record 2 specific football games.

11:00  I received a Christmas gift of a new Mandolin, so I try to practice every day, so I am now.

PM

12:10  My wife received a Christmas gift of a nice camera.  She plans to take a picture each day, so she needs a day journal to keep her pictures in, so we go to Books A Million book store to get her a journal. We are originally from Muncie, but were away for 43 years, so we do have a lot of memories here, that we want to capture for old times sake.

12:55  We have prescriptions ready at the pharmacy, and while there we will pick up groceries.

2:30  Arrive home, put groceries away, and take down indoor holiday decorations.

3:30  Eat Lupper (one meal of Lunch and Supper). Call grandson to see how he is feeling. He had severe, unexplainable back pain yesterday and I took him to a Med Express facility, then they sent him to IU BMH ER, which gave him a script. But still not able to go to work. Glad he is better. He has a doctor appointment on Tuesday.

4:30  Watch football games I recorded, so if I want, I can fast-forward through commercials. I do my stretches given me by my Physical Therapist while watching the games. Also, I turn the volume down on the TV, and practice on my Mandolin.  I have never played A stringed instrument before, but I have always loved the sound, and my family knew it. I have played several instruments, and the last one was the harmonica, but it was years ago. One lesson book has DVD’s by a teacher, the other book utilizes a web site with a teacher. I practice, with the games mostly on mute, until 8:45.

8:15  My wife and I discuss Monday’s plans.

8:30  I take my night meds, and read Christian book until I am ready to go to sleep.

9:30  We turn out the lights, say a prayer, and go to sleep pretty quickly.
