My day began with prayer and devotion at 5:30 a.m., followed by breakfast. After breakfast, I attacked the overwhelming number of emails I receive daily to winnow out the most important tasks. Later I worked with a local group organized to help families of color; my job was to get storybooks from Union Chapel Church for distribution at the Alumni Center event. My next stop was at Best Nails, where I wrote out checks for donations while waiting for a manicure/pedicure. I enjoyed visiting with my nail technician M, always a highlight in any day. By now it was past lunchtime, so I stopped at home for a bite to eat before heading to MOM to pick up leftover food that I then distributed to local daycare centers. Then I took a well-earned nap!. That evening, my cousin stopped by and we visited until dinner.
